To start of with i am a huge fan of Marvel and i had high expectations of the Super Hero Squad show, I grew up watching the X-men animated series (which can now be watched online for free, just search amongst other animated shows. So after watching a few episodes of the SHSS i was blown away by how great it was. It went beyond what i expected and is an excellent starting point for anyone entering the Marvel universe. The Squad is made up of all your favourite heroes, they have been drawn in the style of the Hasbro toy line and so look smaller than normal with over exaggerated features, they also have exaggerated personalities compared to the comic books. For example the Hulk never stops eating, is blatantly dumb, entertained by the simplest things and always a second away from becoming angry, the Silver Surfer still has the power cosmic and is the typical surfer dude, Iron man runs the show and uses all sorts of gadgets to save the day, Captain America shows up a lot throughout the series with his ‘hero’ gentlemanly charm and heard referring to Thor as a lady simply because he has long hair.

As you can see above the voice talent for this show is awesomely impressive, Marvel have managed to secure some great stars, a few are even the stars who played the character in a movie like iceman from the X-men movies.

The show may be primarily marketed at children but the humour of the show is most definitely suited to adults. The stories aren’t groundbreaking but they stick to the comics and are thoroughly entertaining and will be great viewing for both you and your children. I just recently saw the Double episode staring Galactus, the attention to detail is amazing, when you see this you will love it!!

My first thoughts to this were ‘Stan Lee what are you thinking?’ and $4 Billion now that’s a nice round figure, I don’t know how much Mr Lee would be getting from this transaction but even a small amount of that would be a nice little pay check. This could effectively be a massive move not only for comic book lovers but also for movie lovers out there, The deal will bring together a well established comic book publisher with a one of the largest powerhouse international media companies in the world.

Marvel have most recently started producing its own movies based on the comic book characters they have created such as Spiderman, The X-Men, Wolverine, The Hulk to only name a few and have all become massive box office blockbusters. Mix that with the knowledge Disney have at creating blockbusters and here’s hoping that the movies can only get better!

Last summer’s “Iron Man” blockbuster earned just under $100 million over three days, the second-best non-sequel opening ever, according to Entertainment Weekly. “Iron Man” was the first Marvel movie to be fully financed and produced by the comic book company.

The Post’s Steve Murray has created an ‘imaginary’ memo that could have been used in the deal between the two companies:
